PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash in Forestville

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash this morning in Forestville. The victim is 37-year-old Ghada Seifel-Din Ahmed of Brown Wood Road in Upper Marlboro. Investigators are searching for a trash truck that was involved in this crash.

On January 19, 2016, at about 7:15 am, patrol officers were called to Pennsylvania Avenue and Interstate 495 for a crash. When they arrived, the officers found Ahmed suffering from critical injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals Ahmed had just exited southbound I-495 onto Pennsylvania Avenue. It appears Ahmed’s pickup truck made contact with a trash truck on Pennsylvania Avenue, causing her to lose control and strike a pole. Because of the size difference in the vehicles, investigators now believe it’s possible the trash truck’s driver may not have known the truck was involved in a collision. Anyone who witnessed this fatal crash is asked to call investigators.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at 301-731-4422.
