PGPD Makes Quick Arrest in Domestic-Related Homicide in Landover

Updated March 7, 2016: The Prince George’s County Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with this morning’s homicide of 23-year-old Santa Lizama. The suspect is 23-year-old Daniel Leonard Weste of the 2200 block of Alice Avenue in Oxon Hill. Weste and Lizama were involved in a romantic relationship. Weste has admitted his involvement in the murder of Lizama and has been charged with first and second degree murder, attempted first and second degree murder and other related charges. He has been remanded to the Department of Corrections where he remains on a no-bond status. 

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in Landover. The victim is 23-year-old Santa Lizama of 75th Avenue in Landover. Detectives are following strong leads in her murder. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act.

On March 7, 2016, at about 2:55 am, patrol officers were called to the 3100 block of 75th Avenue for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found Lizama in her apartment suffering from critical injuries. She was pronounced dead on the scene. A second woman was also stabbed. Her injuries appear non-life threatening.

The preliminary investigation reveals a suspect stabbed both women and then ran from the apartment.
