Detectives Release Image of Person of Interest in District Heights Homicide

Homicide Unit detectives today released a photo of a man they’d like to talk to in connection with a recent homicide in the city of District Heights. He’s 38-year-old Jason Rashad Blake. His last known address is in the 6600 block of Kipling Parkway in District Heights. He’s an acquaintance of the victim, 51-year-old Charles Wyche of Sero Estates Drive in Fort Washington.

On October 1st, at about 10:50 am, District Heights Police officers responded to the 6500 block of Kipling Parkway for the report of an unconscious man. When they arrived, the officers discovered the victim outside in an alleyway suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
